Stony Brook ranked among best places to raise a family in NYS

|

The Hamlet of Stony Brook has been named among the best places to grow a family in all of New York.

Each year, Niche.com — an online data analytics company — uses collected information to rank the best places for families, and Stony Brook was among a few Suffolk County places to crack the top 100 while being the highest ranked at No. 54. (The list was dominated by Nassau County places.)

When compiling the list, the site graded each area’s public schools, crime rates, cost of living, and family-friendly amenities. That information was retrieved through the U.S. Census, FBI, BLS, CDC, as well as other sources, according to Niche.com.

Through the rankings, Stony Brook was given an overall score of A+.
