Stony Brook Village Center‘s Christmas tree will be lit this weekend.
The ceremony will take place at the Village Green on Sunday, Dec. 6, at 5:30 p.m.
To prevent crowds, the event will be broadcasted live on the village center’s Facebook page.

Throughout downtown Stony Brook, there are decorated six-foot Christmas trees outside of businesses.
This is part of the village center’s annual tree decorating competition. Three trees will be displayed until Jan. 4.

The Stony Brook Post Office at 129 Main Street is accepting letters to Santa Claus. The kiddos can begin dropping off their wishlist beginning on Dec. 6.

Because he’s trying to stay safe from COVID-19, it doesn’t mean the jolly old red man doesn’t want to see the children.
That’s why he will be hosting a Zoom chat from the North Pole this Sunday.
The event, sponsored by the Ward Melville Heritage Organization, will be available in three 45 minute sessions: 2 p.m., 3 p.m. and 4 p.m.
