A lucky scratch-off ticket made this Stony Brook grandmother a millionaire — at least before taxes.
Catherine Laudonio claimed her top prize on the New York Lottery’s “Win $1,000 A Week For Life” scratch-off game. The $2 ticket she purchased at the 7-Eleven on Smithtown Road in Ronkonkoma brought in a minimum payout of $1,000,000.
Instead of the weekly cash, Laudonio opted to receive her prize in a single lump sum. Her payout totaled $459,338 after required tax withholdings.
