Strong Island Burgers pulls plug on Setauket location

|

Strong Island Burgers won’t be gracing Setauket with its presence after all.

The decision to nix the burger joint’s plans at the former Chico’s Tex Mex spot on 30 Route 25A was announced Tuesday morning on social media.

The owners said they made the decision after “things were not lining up correctly” for them.

Initially, the project was a collaboration between John Louis, the brains behind the Maui Chop House food truck, and Vinay Galani, the mastermind behind Chico’s.

Instead, Strong Island Burgers will continue dishing out their burgers from the Maui Chop House food truck.

As for the fate of the vacant Chico’s location, it remains uncertain.

Chico’s relocated its Setauket operations to 244 Route 25A in East Setauket to make way for Strong Island Burgers. They also have branches in Selden and Bohemia.
