Suffolk Federal opens new branch in Port Jeff’s St. Charles Hospital

Suffolk Federal Credit Union held a grand-opening ceremony for its newest branch located in Port Jefferson’s St Charles Hospital on Tuesday.

With the launch at 200 Belle Terre Road, which can be accessed the through St. Charles Hospital’s Chapel entrance, Suffolk Federal now has 10 branches with more than 59,000 members.

The opening in St. Charles was a momentous occasion, says Suffolk Federal’s president and CEO, Ralph Spencer.

“The ribbon-cutting ceremony in opening our Port Jefferson branch is vital to Suffolk Federal’s 51-year history,” said Spencer.

The opening of the branch follows the official merger of Suffolk Federal, one of Suffolk County’s leading credit unions, and Long Island Community Federal Credit Union (LICFCU).

“We have a variety of financial opportunities for our members including insurance products, financial planning, online banking,” said Spencer, “and we look forward to bring all these wonderful services to the hospital community, Port Jefferson community, and surrounding neighborhoods.”

St. Charles welcomes the new partnership with Suffolk Federal with open arms.

“We are thrilled to welcome Suffolk Federal Credit Union to St. Charles ,” said James O’Connor, St. Charles Hospital executive vice president and chief administration officer.  “We look forward to a long and successful partnership.”

During the grand opening, Spencer announced anyone who opens a free checking account and sets up direct deposit from Dec. 3 until Dec. 31 will earn a $200 deposited gift.
