Suffolk police rescue three men on sinking boat near Crab Meadow Beach

Three men on board a sinking boat in the Long Island Sound were rescued by Suffolk County Police Marine Bureau officers Saturday morning.

According to police, Shawn Davis, 42, Vinson Davis, 56, and McCarthur Barker, 69, radioed in a mayday call at 11:20 a.m.

They were about ½ mile north of Crab Meadow Beach.

Officers Joseph Lanzisera and Tyler Smith responded to the call, finding the men on board their partially submerged recreational 21-foot Trophy. There was no injuries, police report.

The water was pumped out of the boat and it was towed to the Soundview Boat Ramp in Northport.
