In its 2024 Best Schools report, the education and community review platform Niche gave an “A+” grade to the teaching staffs in 16 school districts in Suffolk County.
Topping the list was Cold Spring Harbor Central School District, followed by Half Hollow Hills Central School District and Commack Union Free School District.
Niche reviewers of Cold Spring Harbor note that the district’s teachers are dedicated, supportive and welcoming, and “always available for extra help.”
To evaluate teachers, Niche says it combines user input — ratings from current students, alumni and parents — with quantitative data from such sources as the U.S. Department of Education.
