Take a sneak peek at P.J. Harbour Club, opening soon in Port Jeff

|

P.J. Harbour Club — the Italian steakhouse coming to Port Jefferson — is just a few weeks away from opening its doors.

The owners took over the two-story building previously occupied by Due Baci and, before that, Graceful Rose. They are just waiting on approval for their liquor license and are hoping to open early next month.

Two retired friends and golf buddies, Michael Russell and Joe Guerra, have teamed up on the project. They are going for “a steakhouse with an Italian flair,” Russell previously told greaterportjeff.com.

Historic photos of the harbor will be placed throughout the restaurant, courtesy of Port Jefferson historian Chris Ryon.

Guerra, a longtime Port Jeff resident with 40 years of experience in the restaurant and catering industry, is responsible for the food.

“People are going to love his food; he’s an incredible chef,” Russell said.

It’s been a long process in creating the restaurant, Russell said, but they are happy to be close to the finish line.

“My partner Joe Guerra spent an inordinate amount of time framing the pictures, he just got done wallpapering and retiling the kitchen, and he’s really responsible for doing the majority of this work, he’s wonderful,” Russell said.

“We just can’t wait to open, because we’ve had so much interest from the public, we could’ve booked several parties and dinner reservations.”
