Take a virtual video tour of Village Walk Senior Living, in the works for Patchogue

|

The Village Walk Senior Living complex that’s progressing rapidly on East Main Street is scheduled to open sometime in the late fall in Patchogue Village.

In the meantime, Village Walk has released a virtual video tour for locals to see what it’s all about.

The amenities include multiple dining areas, highlighted by a bistro and adjoining courtyard, as well as a pub and rooftop observation deck with views of Fire Island. There’s also an art studio, theater for movies and entertainment, library, internet café, pub, and activities and exercise areas.

(Everything can be seen in the video tour.)

As previously reported, Village Walk will primarily serve people in their 80s who are medically independent but might need help getting dressed, bathed or keeping track of medications.

It’s being built on 1.33 acres immediately east of the village’s Chase Bank branch.

The building will feature an arched opening for vehicle access from Main Street to the lobby, similar to what one might find at some New York City hotels.

Patchogue Mayor Paul Pontieri, along with the rest of the village’s Board of Trustees approved a change of zone in 2013 that allowed the assisted living facility to be built. He previously told GreaterPatchogue the Village Walk will fill a need on Main Street for people in the larger community.

“It just brings a different set of flavor to the community, and that’s important …,” Pontieri had said. “It’s something that is needed for local families.”
