The Angels of Long Island‘s thrift and community outreach store is open for business in East Patchogue.
The nonprofit is now located at 350 East Main Street, toward the rear of the Brookhaven Pharmacy shopping plaza, right next to Boost Mobile.
“I want Patchogue to know we are here,” said Debbie Loesch of Bellport, who co-founded the Long Island Angels group with her daughter, Brittany, over two years ago.
The Angels, who are known for helping families in need — no matter how dire the situation — are using their first-ever storefront to further their work.
“Our goal is to get our monthly overhead covered by donations,” said Debbie Loesch. “Then every single dime this place makes will go back to the community.”
To do so, the Angels of Long Island are selling donated items like clothing, furniture, and seasonal items, as well as accepting monetary donations online.
In addition to being a thrift store, a large portion of the store will be dedicated to outreach. There will be foreclosure, money management, and first time homeowner classes offered for free.
The store will be open six days a week from Monday to Thursday, 10 a.m. to 7 p.m., and Friday and Saturday from 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. Scroll down for more photos.
