The date is set for the 2024 Miller Place-Rocky Point St. Patrick’s parade

The Miller Place-Rocky Point St. Patrick’s Day Parade, one of the largest of its kind in Suffolk County, is set to return for its 72nd annual year.

It is scheduled for Sunday, March 10, starting at 1:00 p.m.

The festivities begin in Miller Place on the corner of 25A and Harrison Avenue. From there, local fire departments lead the marchers eastward, ending at the corner of Broadway and North Country Road in Rocky Point.

The near 3-mile long parade is filled with performances, from dancing to bagpiping.

This year’s grand marshal is Vincent Worthington, a Wading River resident and member of Suffolk County Sheriff’s department since 1996. He joined the The Friends of St. Patrick, the organization that runs the parade, in 2005.

“He is 7th of 7 children who were steeped in Irish traditions: dedication to family, strong work ethic, commitment to community and church, music and the Irish sense of humor,” wrote a spokesperson for the Friends of St. Patrick on this year’s grand marshal.
