The dates are set for 2020’s ‘Alive on the River’ in Patchogue

|

Here’s proof that summer is right around the corner.

Well, this week the Greater Patchogue Chamber of Commerce’s riverfront committee announced to GreaterPatchogue the dates for its Alive on the River festivals.

Those days are July 16, July 30, Aug. 13, and Aug. 27, all Thursdays opposite of Alive After Five. There is no festival on July 4.

From 5 p.m. to 11 p.m., water taxies will be running up and down the Patchogue River, making stops at Drift 82, The Oar Steak & Seafood, Off Key Tikki, Dublin Deck and the Harbor Crab Co. and Island View Marina. It’s $5 for one-way rides or $10 for unlimited.

This will be the third annual Alive on the River summer series.

“We’re really looking forward to this summer, especially because we got hit with a lot of rain last year,” said John Sarno, Drift 82 owner. “It’s a great time, each place has drink specials and live music.”

Looking for a ride to the river? The two men behind the popular designated driving service Late Night Chauffeurs have just launched a free transportation company for Patchogue Village revelers.

They’ll be driving people around Patchogue in what can best be described as suped-up golf carts, starting May 5. Qwik Ride works similarly to ride-sharing services like Uber and Lyft, in the sense you can download the app and order and track your ride.

Prior to Alive on the River, the riverfront committee will be hosting a Cinco de Mayo festival on May 2 and a summer solstice event on June 20.

Both events will have water taxies running along the river at the same prices listed above. Check back at GreaterPatchogue to learn more about these events.
