The Farm Italy in Huntington, an instant hit, is opening a Westbury location

|

The owner of The Farm Italy Restaurant & Bar, which opened to immediate fanfare in February of 2023, has set his sights on the former Houlihan’s building in Westbury for a second location of the smash-hit Italian restaurant.

Newsday was first to report on the new endeavor by consummate restaurateur John Tunney.

The Farm Italy’s Nassau outpost is expecting to be open by the spring of 2025. It will be located right next door to The Shed Restaurant, which opened in May and is also a Tunney concept, at The Selby complex.

The address is 725 Merrick Avenue.

“It will be a beautiful rustic space with two indoor fireplaces, seating approximately 150 in the dining rooms along with another 20 seats at the bar with an exquisite outdoor space seating another 70 people, replete with a covered terrace and outdoor fire pit,” a Tunney representative told Greater Long Island.

What’s more, the neighboring building that used to house a Buffalo Wild Wings will be torn down. The space will then be used to provide more parking for both The Shed & The Farm Italy, as well as a new hotel that being built there, the rep said.

Valet parking and self parking will also be available at the new Farm Italy spot.

The Farm Italy in Huntington was named by OpenTable as being among the top 100 restaurants in the U.S.

Tunney also owns several more Shed locations and Besito Mexican restaurants on the Island, along with Ballo at Mohegan Sun, which Newsday reported is going to be rebranded this winter as The Farm Italy at Ballo.
