The Green Fork adds new healthy dining option to Long Beach

|

Long Beachers, there’s a new spot in town to grab a healthy meal.

Babylon’s The Green Fork opened its second location this spring at 134 E. Park Ave., in a former Philly Pretzel Factory location.

The fast-casual restaurant serves freshly-made salads, wraps, and quinoa/wild rice bowls. The focus is on preparing meals in-house daily with organic ingredients. The ordering system resembles Chipotle-style, with diners choosing their protein, veggies, and toppings.

The Green Fork was founded in 2020, just six weeks before the start of the pandemic.

“We made it through that, but it obviously threw a monkey wrench into our plans to expand,” said The Green Fork owner Kristy Furci.

Fast forward four years and three children later, Furci felt now was the perfect time.

So, why Long Beach?

“They prioritize health and wellness in Long Beach,” she said. “It’s very community-oriented, just like Babylon.”

Furci mentioned that the new Long Beach location closely mirrors its sister store in Babylon in terms of vibe and menu, with the addition of smoothies being the only difference.
