The Mastics-Shirley Christmas parade is all set for Sunday, Dec. 8

|

This Sunday marks the 53rd Annual Christmas Parade hosted by the Mastics & Shirley Chamber of Commerce.

“We are all set for our Annual Christmas Parade with over 55 groups and organizations, over 15 floats and 40 vehicles in the parade,” the chamber announced on its Facebook page.

This year’s theme is “My Favorite Christmas Song,” with Cassy and Keith Caputo serving as the grand marshals.

The holiday festivities will kick off at noon at the Kohl’s Shopping Center. The parade will proceed eastward, concluding at the Mastic Fire Department. Spectators can enjoy dancers, performers, first responders, floats, and much more. Following the parade, a float and vehicle light showcase will take place in the rear parking lot of Kohl’s from 6 p.m. to 7 p.m.

Montauk Highway will be closed between William Floyd Parkway and Barnes Road in Moriches starting at 10 a.m. The parade itself will begin at noon, with the roads expected to reopen around 4 p.m.
