One of Long Island’s newest catering venues is set for a grand opening this month.
On Tuesday, June 12, the owners of The Piermont will be celebrating the property’s extensive transformation after purchasing Babylon’s Venetian Yacht Club back in January.
“We underwent a major renovation from top to bottom,” said co-owner Andrew Affa. “All the ballrooms, the exteriors, state of the art lighting, and beautiful finishings throughout.”
Affa and his partner Steve Squitiro were very familiar with the location at 494 Fire Island Avenue before moving in.
“One of Steve’s first jobs in hospitality was at John Anthony’s on the Water (the property’s prior business),” said Affa.
Affa and Squitiro, who previously ran Carlyle On The Green together, knew they wanted the land since it went up for sale. “We love Babylon,” said Affa, who lives in Huntington. “It is a beautiful location with an unmatched view.”
Since opening, the response has been great, they say.
“We are almost sold out of our prime season dates for next year,” said Affa.
At The Piermont, ownership will pride itself on a boutique feel when it comes to food and service. Tuesday’s event will feature food, drink, and live music from 6 p.m. to 10 p.m.
