The Sinclair at Port Washington has revealed new renderings (below) tied to a major $50 million redesign aimed at reshaping luxury independent senior living on Long Island’s North Shore.
The resort-inspired overhaul is being led by award-winning architecture firm Meyer Design.
The visuals show a refreshed, hospitality-forward community on a gated campus next to the Harbor Links Golf Course and near North Hempstead Beach Park.
The Sinclair is a rental community with no entrance fees or long-term contracts, offering maintenance-free living with dining, wellness programming, housekeeping, and concierge-style services included, reads a press announcement.
According to the renderings, interiors take cues from the North Shore’s historic estates, with warm, residential spaces layered in velvet, marble, and subtle gilded accents.
The goal is to feel elevated and comfortable — more boutique hotel than traditional senior living, Sinclair executives said.
“The redesign is about much more than updating spaces,” said Roger Bernier, CEO of Chelsea Senior Living, the operator of The Sinclair. “Our vision is to create an environment that energizes residents and supports how they want to live. Thoughtful design, paired with exceptional service, dining, wellness, and hospitality, allows us to deliver a level of care, attention, and service residents have come to expect.”
Newly imagined common spaces include a redesigned lobby and reception area, a lounge and bar, card and game rooms, and a speakeasy-style wine cellar intended for smaller gatherings and social events.
Additional renderings preview restaurant-style dining venues, a fully rebuilt kitchen, spa and fitness amenities, an indoor pool, and upgraded outdoor spaces like walking paths, pickleball and bocce courts, and fireside gardens.
Construction is expected to begin this spring.
