The still-undefeated Alex ‘El Toro’ Vargas beats Mauro Godoy by TKO

|

Time off from boxing to “protect and serve” Suffolk County didn’t slow Alex “El Toro” Vargas in the ring Saturday night at The Paramount in Huntington.

And this time, the newly minted SCPD police officer faced his most experienced, formidable fighter yet.

Stepping into the ring with a 12-0 record, Vargas won by TKO in the 5th Round against Mauro “El Rayo” Godoy, who going into the night, had 37 wins, 8 losses, and 1 draw, with 18 KOs under his belt

Greater Long Island was there to document the 8-round welterweight showdown. Scroll through the slides below for photos by Nick Marchand.
