Theatre Three to host 22nd annual Festival of One-Act Plays

|

Theatre Three is gearing up for its 22nd annual Festival of One-Act Plays.

From April 13 to May 5, the Port Jefferson theatre will be premiering six, one-act performances on its second stage.

“Selected from over 400 submissions worldwide, these six cutting-edge premieres are guaranteed to entertain and engage,” wrote a theatre’s spokesperson.

The plays, which are performed one after another, are directed by Jeffrey Sanzel.

The shows include:

  • Family by Numbers by Arianna Rose
  • For a Moment in the Darkness, We Wait by Libby Leonard
  • The Making of Medea’s MEDEA by Chas Belov
  • Perfectly Normal by J. Joseph Cox
  • Playlist to Have a Crisis To by Tom Slot
  • The Unforgivable Sin of Forgiveness by Rich Orloff

about the show

The evening opens with Arianna Rose’s lyrical and heart-breaking Family by Numbers.  J. Joseph Cox examines the changing workplace in the apocalyptic comedy Perfectly Normal. Libby Leonard’s For a Moment in the Darkness, We Wait shows two lonely people finding common ground.  A visit from a well-known celebrity takes an unexpected turn in Playlist to Have a Crisis To.

The second half opens with a look at a different kind of domestic crisis in the hilarious The Unforgivable Sin of Forgiveness, by Rich Orloff.

The evening closes with Chas Belov’s The Making of Medea’s MEDEA.  Kill your darlings?  Maybe so in this darkly outrageous examination of life, art, and the media.
