The Mastic Fire Department

1080 Mastic Road, Mastic

The Mastic Fire Department started out as the Mastic Chemical Co. Four members formed the charter for the Mastic Chemical Co. No. 1, known as the Mastic Fire Department, which was obtained from the state of New York on April 29, 1925.

On May 31, 1935, at 7:30 p.m., the Mastic firehouse was destroyed by a fire due to a faulty stove. It was contracted to be rebuilt later that year. Here are several historic photos of the Mastic Fire Department.
