Thred clothing boutique to close in Patchogue Village

[Correction: Thred closes in Patchogue June 30, not the end of May as was initially reported.]

Thred, an independently owned clothing boutique, is closing in downtown Patchogue.

Patchogue native and Fashion Institute of Technology graduate Merav Shiloni said it was a dream to open her store at 7 Village Green seven years ago.

Now, it’s time to move on to something new as she will not be renewing her lease, she said.

“Thank you, Patchogue Village, for welcoming Thred,” Shiloni told GreaterPatchogue. “To our loyal customers, it has been so much fun and rewarding to style and tailor for you.”

Shiloni was one of the first retailers to open in the New Village at Patchogue complex.

“I’ve always wanted to open my own business, and Patchogue is booming,” she told GreaterPatchogue at her opening. “I grew up here, so I figured, just go for it … I put together a business plan, and here I am.”

Thred’s chapter in Patchogue comes to an end on [June 30]. The shop is offering massive discounts on all stock, as well as furniture.

“We will miss sharing those special memories with all of you. See you around town,” she said.
