Three Long Islanders among Top 100 earners on Cameo

|

This list has us saying, “Yeah, boyeeeeee!”

Legendary rapper Flava Flav, rocker Dee Snider and retired professional wrestler Mick Foley — three of Long Island’s most iconic and accomplished celebrities — all landed on a list of top 100 earners on the online platform and mobile app Cameo.

Foley, a four-time world champion who grew up in East Setauket, came in at No. 2 on VegasInsider.com‘s analysis of big earners on Cameo, which lets fans request personalized video messages, shoutouts and greetings from celebrities, influencers, athletes, musicians and other public figures.

You can book a personal video with Foley for $149. On average, his personal clips go past four minutes, so fans get quite the bang for their buck.

Below is a recent one that “Cactus Jack” recorded and sent to a fan named Scott, sending him well wishes for his upcoming wedding. The Cameo was a gift from Scott’s groomsman Brian.

Flav is always on time

Public Enemy rapper and reality TV star Flavor Flav has made $171,150 off of his Cameo personal videos, which cost $350 a pop. Good enough to land the charismatic entertainer from Roosevelt at No. 53 on VegasInsider’s list.

Known for his persistent shouting of “Yeah, boyeeeeee!” when performing, Flavor Flav has left an indelible mark on the hip-hop scene as a founding member of the legendary group Public Enemy, along with Chuck D. The clock-donning artist has garnered rave reviews from Cameo users.

This month, Cameo customer Melanie wrote in a review that “Flavor Flav is THE ultimate hype man.”

“His birthday message … was incredibly warm, endearing, sweet, and authentic. He more than delivered and I can’t thank him enough,” Melanie wrote.

You’ll wanna rock with Dee

Twisted Sister rocker Dee Snider is No. 92 on the list. He has earned $131,500 on Cameo.

You can book a personal video from Dee Snider for $250. From the looks of it, you’re guaranteed an energy-filled clip of up to 90 seconds. Snider’s roots trace back to Baldwin, where his musical journey began.

10 things we learned talking with Twisted Sister’s Dee Snider

Known for belting out “We’re Not Gonna Take It” and “I Wanna Rock” with Twisted Sister, he’s played at stages across Long Island. For years, he lived with his wife and children in East Setauket. These days, he splits time between his homes in Los Angeles and Belize.

Because who doesn’t adore Kevin Malone?

No. 1 on VegasInsider’s list is “The Office” actor Brian Baumgartner. He has amassed more than $1 million from his Cameo video messages, charging $195 per clip.

Last summer, Greater Long Island reported a Sports Betting NY study that showed former New York Mets great Keith Hernandez ranked third among America’s highest-earning sports stars on Cameo.
