Three Stony Brook Seawolves land with NFL teams following 2021 draft

|

Three Stony Brook football standouts immediately signed NFL contracts on Saturday following the 2021 draft.

The trio that inked undrafted free agent deals includes defensive back Augie Contressa (Tampa Bay Buccaneers), defensive back TJ Morrison (Las Vegas Raiders) and defensive tackle Sam Kamara (Chicago Bears).

Here’s some of their key college stats:

  • Contressa, a Commack native, recorded 88 total tackles with 10.5 tackles for a loss in 2019.
  • Kamara registered 15 sacks in 33 games played over the last four seasons.
  • Morrison of Yonkers totaled 109 tackles with two interceptions in 40 games at SBU

Including these three, this makes 17 Seawolves to earn NFL opportunities over the last four years.

Last year, there were four former Seawolves playing in the league. This includes defensive backs Gavin Heslop (Seattle Seahawks) and Chris Cooper (Denver Broncos), as well as tight end Connor Davis (New York Jets) and offensive lineman Timon Parris (Atlanta Falcons and Washington Football Team).
