Before we leave 2020 behind, let’s take a look back at the 10 most-read articles published on GreaterMoriches this year.
The residents of Mastic, Mastic Beach, Shirley, Center Moriches, East Moriches, Moriches and Eastport came together in so many ways this year. Our communities supported each other’s families and local shops who were feeling the hardships brought by the coronavirus pandemic. Neighbors stood together to support the Black Lives Matter movement after the death of George Floyd and had engaging conversations about William Floyd’s visage continuing to represent the Tri-Hamlet area since, despite signing the Declaration of Independence, he was a slave owner.
The GreaterMoriches area also showed some impressive enthusiasm over new dining spots that opened in 2020, as well as some that are coming to the area next year, from pizza to tacos to burgers. We also cannot forget when celebrity chef Alex Guarnaschelli stopped by our own Lucharitos.
