Since its Sept. 13 launch, GreaterPortJeff has been viewed nearly 100,000 times, with nearly 62,000 unique visits.

Michael White launched the community news website greaterpatchogue.com on July 1, 2015, after 15 years in newspapers. He later expanded into other communities and in 2017 established Greater Long Island Media Group LLC.
Before that, he was a staff writer at daily newspapers in Maryland and New York City, including the Daily News where he last served in the Police Bureau.
He’s also a former editor of The Suffolk Times and Riverhead News-Review weekly newspapers on Long Island’s East End.
Mike has a master’s degree in journalism from Columbia University and an English/journalism degree from the University of Delaware.
