Traffic stop uncovers 74 license suspensions in Huntington Station

|

It was the missing inspection sticker that caught the police officer’s attention — but it was the dozens and dozens of license suspensions that landed the driver in handcuffs.

Suffolk County Police said a Second Precinct cop pulled over a 2010 Toyota on Maplewood Road near White Pine Court in Huntington Station on Tuesday after noticing the car didn’t have a valid inspection sticker.

The driver, Walter Castillo Ochoa, 45, of Huntington Station, was found to have 74 license suspensions on 12 separate dates, police said.

Ochoa was arrested and charged with first-degree aggravated unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle, a felony. He was released on a desk appearance ticket and is scheduled to be arraigned at First District Court in Central Islip at a later date,

The Toyota was impounded.
