A Tropical Smoothie Cafe is setting up shop in the South Port Shopping Center in Shirley.
A vinyl sign proclaiming the smoothie and healthy treats take-out place’s imminent arrival is posted on a storefront two doors down from Savorona Pizza. It’s across the parking lot from one of the plaza’s anchor stores, Kohl’s.
This will be Tropical Smoothie Cafe’s first venture east of William Floyd Parkway. The popular smoothie chain boasts more than 700 cafes across the country, including over 20 on Long Island.
But the closest one to the Greater Moriches area is in Patchogue.
Tropical Smoothie Cafe’s menu features toasted wraps, sandwiches, flatbreads and quesadillas, along with its signature fruit and vegetable smoothies. Its first cafe opened in 1998 in Florida.
