Two major New York Lottery scratch-off prizes have been claimed on Long Island, with a five-person group splitting a $5 million jackpot and a Huntington Station resident scoring a $2 million windfall.
A group of five, consisting of members of the Rahman family from Bay Shore and Floral Park, won the top prize on the Cash X100 scratch-off game. They opted to split the $5 million evenly, with each receiving $1 million before required withholdings.
Their winning ticket was purchased at Ron’s Deli Grocery Store on Jamaica Avenue in Queens.
Meanwhile, Rosario Mejia of Huntington Station won a top prize on the $2,000,000 Cashword scratch-off game. Mejia chose a one-time lump sum payment of $846,300 after withholdings. The winning ticket was purchased at Park Stationary on Park Avenue in Huntington.
Both prizes were claimed on Tuesday.
All top prizes for the Cash X100 game have now been claimed, while two $2 million prizes remain for the Cashword game. Players can check the status of any New York Lottery scratch-off ticket by visiting nylottery.ny.gov.
