Ukrainian boxer Dovhun defends title on Long Island, dedicates win to his home country

Star Boxing continued its “Rockin’ Fights” series this past weekend at The Paramount in Huntington.

The main card saw Oleh “The Ukrainian Pitbull” Dovhun successfully defend his WBA NABA Super Bantamweight title against Belgium’s Geram Eloyan.

Dovhun won by split-decision in a 10-round bout. He’s now 14-0 (5 KOs). Tap here for highlights.

“Thank you, everyone, for the support,” Dovhun said after his victory. “It’s a hard time for Ukraine right now… this win I give to the Ukrainian people.”

Dovhun previously told greaterlongisland.com he intended on donating his entire fight purse to relief efforts in his war-torn home country.

Other highlights from the fight night include the following:

  • Elmont’s Tyrone “Pretty Boy” James improves to 12-0 (9 KOs) and wins ABO North American Super Welterweight title over Jimmy “Quiet Storm” Williams (18-7-2, 6 KOs). James won via TKO in Round 4.
  • Huntington’s Wendy “Haitian Fire” Toussaint (13-1, 6 KOs) made light work of his opponent, knocking out Travis Gambardella (7-2-2, 3 KOs) in the first round.
  • Elmont’s Isaah Flaherty is now 3-0 (2 KOs) after earning an unanimous decision victory over Angelo Thompson (0-1)
