Uncle Joe’s Pizza and Parlour opened in Miller Place today, replacing longtime resident Fusilli Pizzeria in the Aliano Shopping Center on Route 25A.
The changeover comes after a three-month gut renovation of the storefront, and it’s part of a huge Long Island expansion by the Hampton Bays-based Uncle Joe’s.
Uncle Joe’s was first opened in Hamptons Bays back in 1968 by Giuseppe “Joe” Sciara, who was born in Sicily in 1940. Last June, Sciara sold the business to Hamptons Brands, which is led by the couple, Tana and Scott Gerber.
Following a complete reimagining of the iconic Hampton Bays pizza shop, Uncle Joe’s celebrated a grand re-opening last month. The chain has also taken over Wading River Pizza and Papa Nick’s in Bellport.
Several other new locations will be announced in the coming weeks, ownership said.
Fusilli had operated in Aliano Shopping Center on Route 25A for 13 years before it closed in February.

“It is very important to us to uphold Fusilli’s long-standing traditions of culinary excellence, meaningful community engagement and high-quality customer service that locals have come to know and love,” Tana Gerber said at the time of Fusilli purchase. “We are also excited to introduce the Miller Place community to some of the specialties that have made us a trusted, family-friendly brand for over 50 years.”
Uncle Joe’s replaces Papa Nick’s in Bellport
Uncle Joe’s Famous Pizzeria serves original Long Island Panko pizzas, classic New York-style pizzas, and such Italian specialties as its famous vodka sauce dishes, original sauce wings and signature Dolci Doughknots.
Members of the pizzeria’s loyalty program, Uncle Joe’s Social Club, get free pizza pies on their birthdays, a $20 gift card for every $100 spent on catering orders, free gelato with every meal for kids ages 10 and under, and other special members-only perks.
