Ushin House fills former H20 spot in East Islip

|

Ushin House was welcomed with open arms to the East Islip community during its grand opening last week.

The Japanese restaurant filled the vacant structure that most recently housed H2O Seafood & Sushi — and before that, the Beachtree Café — at 166 W. Main Street.

Ushin owner Eric Lin, who also owns 360 Taiko in downtown Patchogue, was given a certificate of recognition by the Town of Islip at the ribbon-cutting ceremony on June 24. Members of the Islip Town Board, including Town Supervisor Angie Carpenter, as well as the local community, were on hand for the celebration.

The area eagerly awaited a replacement for the marquee location in town.

H2O closed in the wake of the onset of the COVID-19 pandemic and had been shuttered since. The H2O in Smithtown continues to operate. After a long run, the Beachtree Café closed for good in early 2016. By the end of that year, H2O opened and quickly gained a foothold as a go-to spot for a quality dining experience in the East Islip and Islip areas.

The new establishment offers modern Japanese cuisine, including a variety of sushi and sashimi rolls, as well as tempura, noodles, rice, and more. Tap here for the full menu.

“We offer our customers delicious, tasty, and constant innovation using carefully selected ingredients to create the most delicious food,” reads Ushin’s website.

The restaurant is open seven days a week, from Sunday to Thursday from 4 p.m. to 10 p.m., and from Friday to Saturday from 4 p.m. to 11 p.m.
