Indian Island Country Club’s new 19th hole is ready for its big debut.
Village Idiot Pub, which has taken over the old Kenny’s on the Green space at the county course in Riverhead, opens to the public at 9 a.m. on Thursday.
Ownership is calling the place VIP on the 19th Tee.
John Sarno, founder of Silver Lining Restaurant Group, which operates the Village Idiot locations in Patchogue, Oakdale and Lake Grove, as well as three other Island restaurants, inked a three-year deal for the county course concession this spring.

The Village Idiot Pub at Indian Island will be a full-service, year-round restaurant and pub that’s not just golfers, but locals and East End visitors alike.
Joining Sarno on the VIP project in Riverhead is co-owner Tim Kelly and consultant Mike Krohn.

If you’re curious about the menu, Sarno says “it’ll be a cut and paste” of the other VIP restaurants, as the Village Idiot Pub locations are commonly known.
“It’s just another great opportunity that dropped right in our lap,” Sarno previously told Greater Long Island. “With so much potential for outdoor dining, live music, catering, with enough room outside for tents and some high-volume functions. There’s nothing out here that’s really comparable. All with great views of Peconic Bay.”
The team has also been working on making the outdoors a fun spot with places to sip, lounge and play yard games.
