About 150 people came out June 1 to get a sneak peek at models for the Vineyards at Brookfield senior-living condominiums in Center Moriches.

The six models will officially be ready June 30, but this was an early showing by developer Ornstein Leyton Co. of three uncompleted models to generate interest in the 146-unit project, located off of Brookfield Avenue.

Ron Cypers, managing director of Leyton Properties, which is affiliated with the developer, said several people signed binders on the day of the sneak peek, but he expects things to ramp up in the coming weeks.

“I’m pretty sure there was five to 10 buyers in that group alone,” Cypers said.

The gated community, which borders a sister property, Vineyards at Moriches, will include a 6,480-square-foot clubhouse and an outside pool on 25 acres.

Other OLC properties include Vineyards at Miller Place and Vineyards at Blue Point, which is under construction.

Among those who came for a look on June 1 were Vineyards at Moriches owners Barbara and Robert Petrone, who bought their condominium about 3 ½ years ago, but were intrigued to see what was going on next door. And they’re always interested in seeing new things.

“I love ours so much,” said Barbara Petrone, adding that her experience with the company has been excellent. “I can’t say enough nice things about it.”
