Norweigan Cruise LineĀ is giving 15 teachers throughout the U.S. and Canada an all-expense paid seven-day cruise.

And Brian O’Neill, a math teacher from Patchogue-Medford High School, has been nominated.

In addition to the free trip, if O’Neill wins, Pat-Med will also receive $15,000.Ā The giveaway is part of NCL’s promotion of its newest shipĀ Norwegian Joy, which is debuting soon in North America.

O’Neill, who is set to retire in June at 69 years old, is well respected for his passion in the classroom.

“He is the most dedicated teacher I have ever know he has taught math since 1974,” writes his wife Andrea, who nominated him.

The math teacher underwent tough times recently after being diagnosed with tongue cancer in 2015.

“They had to take out most of his tongue and rebuilt it with a piece of his leg and veins and arteries from his arm,” said Andrea.Ā  “He had to learn to eat and speak again but this did not keep him down.”

Through it all, he had the surgery that April and returned to teaching in November.

“This would be a well-deserved trip for him,” his wife finishes.

Voting is being accepted now until Friday, April 12.
