Jeremy Ruckert, the Long Islander selected in the third round of the 2022 NFL Draft by the New York Jets, didn’t take long to score his first touchdown as a pro.
It happened Friday during the fourth quarter of the Jets’ first pre-season action. The game was against the Philadelphia Eagles.
On play action on the Eagles’ one-yard line, Jets fourth string QB Chris Streveler found his tight end for a wide-open, go-ahead score.
Ruckert, who returned to practice this week after missing time due to a foot injury, finished the game with an additional catch for a total of three yards.
The Jets would go on to win the game 24-21. They return to action Monday, Aug. 22, against the Atlanta Falcons.
