This summer, the Village of Patchogue unveiled its ambitious overhaul of the shoreline at Shorefront Park.
Benny Migliorino of Benny Migs Photo captured the transformation of the park for the village through a timelapse video. The video starts in January and concludes in July.
About the project
Running the full length of the park’s approximate 1,200-foot waterfront edge, a new living shoreline boasts a rock revetment wall and a 50-foot-wide wetland area with vegetation and sand dunes. The concept mimics natural features and processes using native materials.
The $3.7 million project also included the following additions: a kayak launch, new walkways, bridges, and seating.
