Weather Service warns of hazardous weather, flooding

|

The National Weather Service has issued a hazardous weather outlook for across Long Island, warning of heavy downpours and coastal flooding that could persist into Monday.

“Localized heavy rainfall Tuesday night into Wednesday may produce minor flooding of urban and poor drainage areas,” according to the weather outlook issued Monday. “Another round of heavy rain is possible late this week into this weekend which could bring additional flooding concerns.”

The statement indicates the rain could be in association with a tropical storm “that is forecast to track somewhere off the mid-Atlantic Coast.”

The National Weather Service will continue to provide information throughout the week.
