West Babylon H.S. actors nominated for prestigious Roger Rees Awards

Two West Babylon High School actors have been nominated to represent West Babylon and Suffolk in the statewide Roger Rees Awards (formerly the Gershwin Awards) for Excellence in Student Performance for their roles in Grease.

West Babylon’s Nicole Rinaudo-Concessi and Matthew Lightsey are among 41 performers who are vying for the coveted Best Actor and Best Actress in a local high school musical awards.

The winners will be announced on Sunday, May 21, in New York City.

Rinaudo-Concessi was nominated for playing the part of Grease’s female lead, Sandy Dumbroski, and Lightsey was recognized for his role as Dannu Zuko, the male lead.

Both performed in Grease this winter.
