WFAN’s Boomer & Gio to broadcast live from Blue Point Brewery Oct. 4

|

Proud Long Islanders Boomer Esiason and Gregg Giannotti — hosts of the hit morning show Boomer & Gio on WFAN — have just announced they’ll be broadcasting live from Patchogue next month.

Specifically, Oct. 4, from 6 – 10 a.m., at the Blue Point Brewery, the day of the first Yankees playoff game. Blue Point is also the brewers of Yankees Pinstripe Pilsner.

The announcement came on the heels of the Yankees reaching 100 wins and clinching the AL East title last night.

Giannotti, who lives in Bellport near East Patchogue, pushed to broadcast the show in his own backyard. It’s normally taped in NYC.

“I’ve been wanting to do a live broadcast close to home for some time now,” he told GreaterPatchogue Friday. “We now have the perfect time and place, October at Blue Point Brewery.

“This is going to be so cool for me, and I can’t wait.”

The event is open to all, free and there is no registration.

Giannotti, a 2000 Bellport High School graduate and a friend of GreaterLI, started hosting last year with Esiason, a former NFL quarterback and East Islip High School 1979 graduate.

“This is two South Shore guys coming home,” Giannotti said, “so to all those great fans of the show who stop me in Bellport and Patchogue and ask why we never do a show out on Long Island, here ya go. See you on the 4th, bright and early!”

Boomer & Gio is also simulcast on CBS Sports, Cablevision Ch. 215, so the brewery and Patchogue will be mentioned often that day on national television as well.
