Wine bar to fill former East Main & Main location in Port Jefferson

|

This new wine bar coming to Port Jefferson Village will supply the vino — all you have to do is bring a wine glass.

Lisa Harris, the entrepreneur behind Torte Jeff Pie Company, East Main & Main donuts, and Prohibition Kitchen, is opening up BYOG Wine Bar — a “bring your own glass” concept she’s aiming to open either Memorial Day weekend or the first week of June.

“Not only does it help with the environment without having disposables and having to throw things into the garbage, but it also makes it kind of fun,” said Harris.

BYOG Wine Bar is taking over Harris’s previous East Main & Main storefront at 250 East Main Street. The donut shop now resides inside her pie shop, located around the corner on East Main.

According to its Facebook page, BYOG will feature small batch wine and beer. Locally-made small plates, charcuterie, and desserts will also be available.

Harris said the BYOG concept will allow her team to play with different event ideas for visitors and create special discounts.

Wine glasses will be for sale in the store, as well as other retail items.

Right now, the BYOG team is altering the interior seating arrangements and décor to form “a more intimate gathering space,” said Harris.

“While it’s scary opening any new business during these unprecedented times, I’m hopeful the reputation I’ve built by investing in the community through my other businesses will help provide a strong customer base for the wine bar,” she said.
