Neapolitan wood-fired pizza is now being delivered to homes in Suffolk County, possibly for the first time ever from a non-New York style pizzeria.
The catch is you have to live within a 3-mile radius of the newly opened 081 Pizza in Stony Brook.
George Mylonas, the owner of the European restaurant, started delivering his Italian dishes earlier this month.
“The response has been great,” said Mylonas.
Everything from his sausage and broccoli rabe pizza to the his wide variety of gelato can be ordered right from the website or app.
And starting in the spring time, 081 Pizza will be delivering via Vespa, just like they do in the Old Country, said Mylonas. What’s more authentic feeling than that?
Since opening in August, 081 Pizza has impressed patrons maybe looking for an alternative from traditional New York pizza, as Mylonas was when he moved to Long Island.
“Amazing… Everything we tried was delicious! The pecan pie gelato was out of this world!” was a review left by Facebook user named Marianne Elizabeth.
