East Patchogue’s Amber Ferrari takes the stage Saturday night as Madonna

|

Fresh off her Bethpage win as Long Island’s best singer, East Patchogue’s Amber Ferrari — well known for portraying Janis Joplin in Patchogue and elsewhere — is ditching her feather boa and silk kimono in favor of fishnets and fingerless gloves.

That means the versatile performer will be portraying Madonna this Saturday at Patchogue Theatre for the Performing Arts.

This will actually be Ferrari’s second Material Girl show, but the first in Patchogue.

Check out our packed calendar!

Being a child of the 80s, Ferrari certainly did grow up impersonating Madonna in the mirror, unlike with Joplin.

Prior coverage: It’s Janis Joplin, Southern Comfort and all

“I’m a fan of Madonna, she’s an all around entertainer and I love her music,” Ferrari said. “Performing her music from the 80’s brings me back to when I was growing up. I enjoy singing all styles of music and thought this would be a fun show.”

And for those nine people who might have never heard the song Material Girl, perhaps they’ve heard of another singer that goes by one name (no, not Cher): Adele.

For the first set, Ferrari will be belting out music from the once-in-a-generation voice talent Adele, as well as Journey, The Who, Pat Benatar and Aerosmith, to name a few. The second set will dedicated entirely to Madonna.

Comedian and MC Ike Avelli will open the 8 p.m. show.
