All of Long Island remains under a Winter Storm Warning as 5 to 10 inches of heavy, wet snow is expected to get dumped across Nassau and Suffolk counties Tuesday.
Some localized pockets could see as much as 12 inches, according to the NWS.
The heaviest amounts of snow are expected around midnight through the morning commute.
“Plan on difficult travel conditions, including during the morning commute on Tuesday,” the warnings reads. “Be prepared for significant reductions in visibility at times.”
NWS meteorologists believe the farther east you go on the island, the heavier the snow.
Coastal food warnings are elevated and sustained winds of 20 to 30 mph are predicted, with gusts of up to 40 mph.
The storm warning remains in effect from midnight to 6 p.m. Tuesday.
The high temperature on Tuesday will be 39 degrees, and dropping as low as 30 Tuesday night, according to the NWS 5-day forecast.
The Wednesday forecast also calls for chances of snow showers and breezy weather.
But things calm down Thursday with a party sunny day with highs of 43.
