Fifteen Nassau County high schools rank among New York state’s top 100, according to the U.S. News & World Report study released on Tuesday.
At No. 11, Jericho Senior High School is far and away the highest rated Nassau school in the report. Jericho — its 2023 graduation class incredibly had 15 valedictorians — has a stellar 98 percent graduation rate and 92 percent of its students take at least one AP exam during their high school years.
Garden City High School and Manhasset Secondary School squeezed into New York’s top 25 at Nos. 22 and 23, respectively.
For its 2024 “Best High Schools” rankings, U.S. News rated 17,660 schools, among the more than 26,000 it reviewed. BASIS Peoria in Arizona jumped from No. 12 in 2023 to claim the top spot in the country this year.
New York City Public Schools landed nine high schools in the top 100 Best High Schools nationwide. Suffolk County landed four high schools among the state’s top 100, according to the study.
