There is also a public hearing before the Town Board on Wednesday at 6 p.m. at 401 Main Street in Islip, in Town Hall West (map below).
The Suffolk Planning Commission voted unanimously in February to recommend that Islip’s Town Board grant a zoning change to allow for the development to proceed, according to a Newsday report.
According to the Heartland Square website, the mega project between Commack Road and the Sagtikos State Parkway would be built over 25 to 30 years.
It would create 9,000 apartments and include a one million-square-foot lifestyle center, three million square feet of office space and indoor and outdoor civic spaces, the site reads. CLICK HERE for more.
