Southward Ho Country Club in West Bay Shore played host last week to a Glitzy Glamour luncheon fundraiser to help renovate the pediatric unit at West Islip’s Good Samaritan Hospital.
More than 180 guests raised $13,561.00 to support the efforts, which include enhancing and upgrading the pediatric patient rooms, improvements to the family room/lounge area and installing several showers for families who stay the night.
The day’s honoree was Jamie Winkler of Winkler Real Estate.

“My life is in West Islip, and I love this community,” Winkler said as she was recognized by the group.
“If you love West Islip, you also have to love Good Samaritan Hospital, because it is an integral part of not only the West Islip community, but surrounding communities as well.”
The day also featured a Lord & Taylor fashion show with models that walked around from table to table and spoke of their outfits — and let attendees ask questions.
