A dark crescent moon sky provided the perfect backdrop for the Greater Sayville Chamber of Commerce’s second drive-in movie event of the summer on Saturday.
The double-feature’s first show, “Willy Wonka & the Chocolate Factory,” was sold out (85 cars). And the crowd for the second film, “Grease,” was almost as big.
The event held at the Islip Grange featured a special five-minute video tribute from TD Bank to Greater Sayville Chamber of Commerce President Eileen Tyznar. Members of the community spoke in the video, thanking Tyznar for her dedication to Sayville.
She was presented with a $10,000 award for her business, TEACH Consulting Services, Inc., and a $2,500 beach weekend getaway. Tyznar was one of eight recipients across North America.
“I’m in shock!” she said. “One of the people in the community called the best kept secret, and it truly was.”
