Greater Sayville coverage is funded in part by The Shed, a scratch kitchen serving brunch and dinner daily in West Sayville.
Taco Bell has opened a new restaurant in Bohemia and on Tuesday, Oct. 13, the first 100 customers will receive a free Crunchwrap to celebrate.
The new location, at 5159 Sunrise Highway North in Sayville Plaza, serves up Taco Bell favorites including the Crunchwrap Supreme and Crunchy Taco, along with the chain’s rotating limited-time menu items, a press announcement reads.
The restaurant will be open seven days a week, from 8 a.m. to midnight, and is expected to create approximately 30 jobs moving forward.
The opening marks another milestone in the remarkable turnaround of Sayville Plaza, which was left largely vacant following the closures of Kmart, Sports Authority, Modell’s, Babies “R” Us and other major retailers.
The shopping center has since made a comeback, attracting national retailers including Aldi, At Home, Floor & Decor and Bob’s Discount Furniture. Chick-fil-A opened a restaurant there in March, after Uncle Giuseppe’s Marketplace opened in November.
Greater Long Island first reported plans for the Taco Bell and Chick-fil-A restaurants in September 2025.
Both were planned as standalone buildings near the longtime Burger King along the Sunrise Highway service road.
Corrrection: An earlier version of this report indicated Taco Bell opens for the first time on Tuesday, but Tuesday just marks the grand opening celebration. It’s already open.
