20 Photos: Scenes from Friday’s swim across the Great South Bay

The 2017 Maggie Fischer Memorial Great South Bay Cross Bay Swim went off on Friday as planned, despite some storms.

The race begins on Fire Island and ends at Gilbert Park in Brightwaters Village.

Christopher Arena, 18, a recent graduate of St. Anthony’s High School, won for a second year in a row. Click here for full race coverage.
