Folks that could use a little help this Thanksgiving are being called to downtown Patchogue to pick up free meals that include 10- to 14-pound turkeys.
The meals come courtesy of a company called Skytesting Inc., described in an announcement this week as “New York’s premier special inspections testing company,” as well as its employees.
Two hundred meals will be given out between 10 a.m. and noon on Sunday, Nov. 22, in the municipal parking lot just off Terry Street and immediately west of the Tiffany Apartments (pictured above).
“I am very hopeful that this donation will help to brighten the day of our most vulnerable neighbors,” said Adam Panetta, Skytesting’s vice president. “I cannot fathom the depth of struggle that families are experiencing in a year like no other.”
The company joined forces with the Greater Patchogue Chamber of Commerce for a strategy to distribute the meals to local families.
The donations include the turkey and fixings.
The chamber’s executive director, David Kennedy, immediately answered Panetta’s call to action, the announcement reads.
“We are more than happy to assist Skytesting, and any business like them, that looks beyond their own operations to help their fellow man,” Kennedy said.
Panetta pledged to continue additional donations throughout the holidays and will announce upcoming donations events.
“While we at Skytesting are not a national household name, we can still do our part locally to serve as examples by showing kindness to all,” he said.
